Why kei trucks
Small truck. Serious work.
Kei trucks are Japan's compact work trucks. Most models from the 1990s on use a 660cc engine, are rated to carry 350 kg (about 770 lb) in Japan, and fit through gates, barn doors and orchard rows that full-size pickups can't. Many 4x4 versions add a low-range gear or locking differential for mud and hills.
Farmers and ranchers use them as do-it-all utility vehicles. Collectors love them for their classic JDM style.
